The 2010 World Cup will be known for being the first World Cup on African soil, it will also be known for a shift in the world of Soccer. The finalist from 2006 Italy and France head home in shame and bewilderment! Tiny Slovakia a country that is only 17 years old is on to the next round! New Zealand is sent home undefeated and proud for a huge growth in only their second ever World Cup!
The South American and North American contingents have proven at this World Cup that they are adaptable, capable, and strong enough to play with anyone! Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Mexico, United States, Brazil, and Chile all have moved on to the knock out round. There is something to be said when a team plays with passion, desire, and Heart!!
Did the USA Flip the Script at this World Cup and not tell anyone?
Lets look at the USA for a minute, we really played through adversity at this cup and still showed the world we had the heart, endurance, and mental strength to over come it all. Now we have a game against Ghana, Ghana was the team that was in our group in 2006 and we lost to them on a very dodgy penalty kick, that said we have an opportunity to make a deep run. If we beat Ghana we would play the winner of the South Korea Uruguay game in the quarterfinals and from that point on its the team with the biggest Heart, Soul, Endurance, Courage, and Intestinal Fortitude that will prevail and the USA has shown already they have these traits in spades!!
This is the speech I envisioned "Bob Bradley" giving at Half time to the USA team!
