In 3 weeks the Christmas/Boxing day games will take place in England, most other countries and leagues will take a break to celebrate the holidays. Over the years the week between Christmas and New Years has defined winners and losers for a whole season. Will ManU maintain the pace, can Chelsea catch up, might Man City move to glory, will Liverpool find form? Will Arsenal bring back the glory days, or will Bolton and Tottenham finally break the "Big 4 Deadlock" on the top of the EPL.
News closer to home, Friday night was the Seattle Sounders end of the season membership meeting. Freddy Montero showed off the new Uniform, word was dropped that Ozzie Alonso is England training with Everton along with Zakuani.
Sunderland vs. West Ham (EPL) 1-0
The one thing that you have to hand to the English press, is that they don't back down. Fabio Cappello still has 2 years on his contract but already the man who is going to take his spot is getting anointed by the press and FA? It would be a far cry from his playing days with the Sounders on the left coast!
Showboat
Most of the leagues south of the Equator have wrapped up and the winners are?
West Brom vs. Newcastle (EPL) 3-1
Tuesday and Wednesday will wrap up the final games of the Champions League group stages, there are 4 spots still available for advancement to the next round. Who makes it and who crys in their beers?
EPL November Goals of the Month
It was bound to happen but this soon after the vote leaves me wondering if things maybe will change soon? Some voters received $1.5 million but one lucky guy received $80 million, guess some people know how to negotiate? Lets look at one final roundup of all the allegations on how the FIFA vote went down.
Chelsea vs. Everton (EPL) 1-1
In 1998 when the MLS kicked it's first ball there was a team in Miami (Miami Fusion). If I was a player that would have been the place for me sun, soccer, and the beach. Well now it looks like they just might try again!!
Free Kick of the Week
Lets take a look and see how our "Americans Abroad" fared over the weekend.
Tottenham vs. Birmingham (EPL) 1-1
Come January the transfer window opens for a month, rumors, gossip, and moves will all take place. One interesting bit already hitting the wires is that the American with the worst English accent you have heard will be coming home?
USA vs. Turkey U17 (Friendly) 0-2
The "Best Welsh Player Ever" is weighing up his options for retirement? Ryan Giggs is 37 and doesn't make the runs "like he used to"
Manchester City vs. Bolton (EPL) 1-0
I know some of you consider yourselves knowledgeable about Soccer/Football, lets put it to the test with the "Quiz of the Week" answers are at the bottom of the link so don't cheat or do?
Assists of the Week
There is lots of parity, cheap players, and desperate goals scorers. Yet could we be looking at a model of how leagues should be ran in the future?
Arsenal vs. Fulham (EPL) 2-1
If you have to learn about the Football business then having "Roman Abramovich" as your dad is pretty good bet that you will have a great teacher. Roman Sr, bought Chelsea and the EPL crown once or twice and last Thursday he bought the World Cup (oops did I say that) Looks like Jr. is figuring it out! Oh and by the way Sr. Will be paying for the World Cup he just bought!
Viva Futbol Volume 46
Fans have been invading the pitch for as long as I can remember. I have seen men, women, and kids run around, getting chased, streaking, flashing, and getting away from security. I have never seen anything like this!!
Blackburn vs. Wolverhampton (EPL) 3-0
He pulled the "Cork" out of many bottles of wine but "George Best" also ended up playing for the small town of Cork, and that's a story in itself!
Qatar's National team will need some practice before 2022
