2-4-11

This may be a blog about all things soccer, I am American and the one game of American Football I watch is the Superbowl but lets look at the game with a soccer twist!

Sounders have their first pre-season game today against Vancouver.

Nationalism and soccer tend to cross path's more often in the modern game.

Big weekend for Americans Abroad, some will make debut's for new teams some will get a chance to play and some will watch.

Goal of the Week goes to Artjoms Rudnevs, he scored one of the most ridiculous goals seen in a long time. Check it out here!

Bari 0 – Inter Milan 3 (Serie A, February 3, 2011)

I love to dig up history on the game and players, this next article is about "The Greatest Footballer you Never Saw" Robin Friday was a unique footballer, one story about how Friday started his career for the now defunct Walthamstow Avenue football club, but soon moved to Hayes, who were willing to pay him more and were closer to his home in Acton. Hayes started one match with only ten players, as Friday was finishing a pint in the local pub. When he finally took the field after ten minutes he was obviously drunk and spent the game staggering around the pitch[citation needed]. Naturally, the opposition ignored him, until he scored the only goal of the game

Gaziantepspor 3 – Galatasaray 2 (Turkish Cup, February 3, 2011

Who is Pedro Rodriguez Ledsema? A kid from an Island who played in the 2010 World Cup Final for the winning team!!

Manchester United 6 – Rochdale 1 (Manchester Senior Cup, February 3, 2011)

The Sounders have promised one big name club for their "Friendly Game" this season, we can now confirm that Man U, Barcelona, and AC Milan will all be in the USA this summer!

Tackle of the Week

The Sounders run a very successful academy at the U16 & U18 level, as a matter of fact 10 of their 18 U18 players just signed college letter of intents!

Tackle of the Week II

Some big games in Europe will be played this weekend, here is the run down of the 5 best games.

Tackle of the Week III

You can't go any where but up when your loaned out to the last place team!!

Tackle of the Week IV

Hoping for a fresh start in DC, is Charlie Davies healthy enough to play at a competitive level again?

Goals of the Week (February 4th)

You gotta love a coach who tells and then shows his players that "I have the balls to drop any one of you"
