Tuesday 20 September 2011

The Sounders received some bad news late Monday night. They also announced that more tickets have been sold for the US Open Cup Final on October 4th.

With a Win tonight Seattle will advance to the knockout round of the Champions League, and with a win or tie on Saturday they will lock up a playoff berth.

The big boys enter the Carling Cup today as the third round kicks off. One game of some interest will be Leeds United vs. Manchester United, there is a bit of history between both teams. Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle all hit the pitch today hoping to advance to the next round.

Red Card of the Week

Midfield playmaker and funny man Jimmy Bullard did not get on the scoresheet but had a key role to play prompting from the middle of the park.During the Championship encounter, a brilliant 3rd Eye was spotted as Jimmy Bullard and Keith Andrews showed off a novel way to decide who would take free-kicks. Bullard and Andrews could clearly be seen playing “Rock Papers Scissors” to decide who should have a strike on goal and on the footage below it appears that the former Hull midfielder won out thanks to “Rock"

It happens almost every game, a player is hurt and the game is stopped by the ref or the ball is knocked out of play. In this case the game was stopped by the ref and the team with the injured player decides to knock the ball back to the other teams keeper in a bit of "Fair Play" well their striker did not get the memo and as you will see in the video scores a tap in!

Speed kills is a saying I have heard all my life, but if you watch games now a days alot of teams will lull you to sleep with nice passing in hopes of finding the open shot. Well glory days are coming back! Napoli put on a show Sunday against current Champs AC Milan sending a statement to the rest of the league, "They are turning back the clock"
