Wednesday 12 October 2011

Saturday will be Fan Appreciation day at Century Link Field. With a crowd of 60,000 estimated to attend the game there will definitely be lots of fans so get there early and make sure to stay when the game is over because immediately following the match, Sounders FC goalkeeper Kasey Keller, who will retire at the end of the season, will be honored in an on-field ceremony.

A little more info on the Sounders switching their 3rd kit out!

Although the scoreboard Tuesday night showed a third shutout loss in five matches for the US national team under the German World Cup veteran, he made it clear in his postgame conference that he already has identified the players who will be forming the backbone of his regular starting XI.

I have to admit I am a little patriotic, I like singing the National Anthem before the games as everyone who sits around me will atest to. I also really like it when this guy leads the whole stadium in the song! Call me silly but I think it is fun!

He’s back. That’s the easiest way to say it, and it’s awesome to see.” Those were the words of US manager Jurgen Klinsmann, who started with the performance of Oguchi Onyewu when highlighting the positives of the 1-0 loss against Ecuador on Tuesday night at Red Bull Arena.

Nothing strange here with Japan running out 8-0 against the Tajik's, but a sign that the world is a small place. Mike Havenaar scores 2 goals for Japan, makes you wonder about a 6'4" dutch guy playing for Japan?
