The USA played Brazil last night, it was an International Friendly. Right off the bat you noticed that Brazil brought a whole new team (14 players who never have been capped) The USA went with a mostly reliable lineup with 3 or 4 new/fringe players given a chance. Right away you could tell the difference in quality, skill, and experience. Once again when we play a team like Brazil we see clearly that we don't have a true play maker that can create and direct the team.
Brazil vs. USA highlights
This guy was groomed from a young age to be a professional soccer player and he has demonstrated time and time again that he can handle the pressure, I hope we can find a play maker to complement his talent!
Week 19 MLS Saves of the Week
Hopefully the US Soccer Hall of Fame will grow into something special like the other sports in America! Until then we have little ceremonies before games.
The season is starting up again and so is the "Bike Riding"
Has it really been six years since Mia retired, she could probably lace them up and still be an asset to any team but she has chosen another path that keeps her busy!
USA's Journey
Juventus winger Mauro Camoranesi (who could possibly be playing for Birmingham this season) has been ordered to pay a $50,000 indemnity to an opponent he injured during a match in 1994. An Argentinean court found in favour of Roberto Pizzo who needed surgery for a gruesome tackle by the 2006 World Cup winner. The pretty gruesome tackle, on the type of pitch that is rarely seen these days, came in an encounter in the Mar del Plata league south of Buenos Aires. The ruling said: “Although it’s not possible to describe Camoranesi’s action as deliberately intentional, it was incredibly clumsy… abnormal and avoidable.”
This article is a bit off subject. It comes to us from Italy where things aren't always as they seem and having lived there for many years I find this very funny!! Article is here.
