Mid week action this week is all Cup Action in Europe. Germany has the DFB Pokal, England the Carling Cup, France has Coupe De La Ligue, and Spain has Copa Del Rey. Highlights are posted below.
Seattle Sounders have had two succesful inaugural seasons. The fan support has been paramount in their success in the profit margins and in worldwide recognition! As a fan and initial Season Ticket Holder I have my name on a scarf on the side of Qwest Field, I was also told when I bought Season tickets that the price would be frozen for 3 years (2009, 2010, 2011) that didn't happen. The 2011 ticket prices have gone up 3% which by many standards isn't much but was still unexpected and not communicated to Season Ticket Holders. In 2012 I fully expect the prices to rise even higher, but I hope it will be done with full disclosure!

The World Club Cup is in December and this year will be held in UAE (United Arab Emirates) It is a Championship that takes only Champions. To be included you must be the winner of your version of the Champions league. Inter Milan are the Favorites.

Philadelphia Union was the new team of the MLS and usually the new teams are whipping boys of the league. Not in this case, they had good attendance (18000 average) they had a goal scorer (LeToux) and they had a Rookie of the year canididate (Mwanga) and they also started a Rivalry!

Concussions have come to the fore front of professional sports over the last few years. It has been the same for youth sports, I personally think the changes have been for the better. For some professionals unfortunately it's to late!
