Seattle Sounders made the trip to Arizona and will work in the desert for the next two weeks. The Sounders have keep things close to their chest this off season but one new face looks to make his presence known!
Today is deadline day around Europe, it's the end of Silly Season and we should see lots of movement or not? Will big money be spent or will players be lent? It's all up in the air!
Sometimes a fall from grace is motivation enough, but for Adu it has been 3 years of hell since he left MLS.
Mark your calendar for March 20th it will be an Old Firm Derby for the CIS Cup in Scotland and one American looks to take his place!
It was FA Cup action in England and for a bunch of non-league (Amateurs) a dream came true, Crawley Town has made it to the 5th round and their reward is a match against Manchester United!
In Germany when teammates don't get along they are told to figure it out on the field, well one guy did and it didn't work so well!
Goals of the Week
The MLS made some changes in the last week, moving Houston to the Eastern conference for one. There were many other changes and they are all broken down here!
Rangers 2 – Motherwell 1 (CIS Insurance Cup, January 30, 2011)
Sometimes a players move to Europe is all about the Euro, and sometimes it's not. One US International should be making a move before midnight tonight, one has already made his move, and the MLS doesn't like FIFA now!
Hercules 0 – Barcelona 3 (La Liga, January 29, 2011)
If Michael Bradley makes the move to the EPL that would make 4 US center mid's in the EPL, that is great news for the USA and can only help us strengthen our squad! Now we need more Goal Scoring Americans in Europe!
Inter Milan 3 – Palermo 2 (Serie A, January 30, 2011)
Even though they come into the league this year already established as one of Seattle's main Rivals, Portland has done a great job preparing for their first season in the MLS and building a new training facility in the heart of Nike Town with Adidas is another step!
Tackle of the Week (They were Kung Fu Fighting) I love how the keeper walks off right away!! Here are the "Top 10 Worst Tackles"
My son is a left footed player and there must be something about being left footed that lets him think he can score from any angle, but after watching this goal from Rossi I might believe he can!
Napoli 4 – Sampdoria 0 (Serie A, January 30, 2011)
It has happened in England with 4 teams being owned by US investors, now in Italy it looks like one of the storied clubs of the Serie A will be a little red, white, and blue!
Catania 0 – AC Milan 2 (Serie A, January 29, 2011)
I am a big advocate of soccer in America, I participate in it, I support my local pro team, I watch it as much as possible, and yet I still wonder "Will Soccer Catch on in America?"
Heerenveen 1 – Groningen 4 (Eredivisie, January 30, 2011)
At 23 he has won the World Cup, Champions League Twice, one EPL title and two La Liga titles, for one Spanish kid it's plenty of dreams rolled into one!!
Goal of the Month!!
Lets hope the luck of the Irish isn't that good and the old Red, White, and Blue have more pull!!
Excelsior 1 – ADO Den Haag 5 (Eredivisie, January 30, 2011)
Qatar just finished up hosting the Asian Cup, and the final was won by Japan. The story of the final was actually all about the tickets and the major cluster it turned out to be, can't wait for 2022!!
