Wednesday 6th of November

Sounders are Champions!! Sounders are Champions!!

the US Open Cup is the oldest knockout tournament in American sports dating back to May 16 1914 when Brooklyn Field Club(NAFBL) beat Brooklyn Celtic 2-1. The last time a team repeated as the US Open Cup Champion was in 1983 when the New York Pancyprian Freedoms won there second cup. Last night at a packed Qwest Field 31, 000 screaming fans witnessed the Sounders win their 2nd consecutive Open Cup! History was made when Sanna Nyassi became the only person to score more than one goal in an Open Cup Final. Seattle is the first team in the Modern Era (MLS) to win back to back championships. It was even more special as it was won on their home ground! When the final whistle blew the crowd erupted and almost everyone in the stadium stayed for another 45 Minutes to watch the trophy presentation, sing Kool and the Gang, and cheer on the champs!!

Goal of the Season Nominee,Forget the timing of the goal, the only goal of the game coming in the 92nd minute, you simply have to wonder how Burrows scores a flying back heel volley from the edge of the area!

CONCACAF Champions League Recap Show

It helps when you play the team your coach used to coach in a final! Sigi's tactics stopped Columbus flat and our use of speed on their big men keep them on their heels all night!
Assists of the Week

Good news coming out of the Sounders camp. Montero a DP? We all griped that he didn't hustle or work hard, well since July 4th of this year (the last game Ljunberg played for Seattle) we have seen Montero tear it up all over the field. I wonder out loud if the PrimaDonna tag was legit for Ljunberg?

Al Shabab vs. Seongnam Ilhwa highlights (4-3) Asian Champions League

The sounders play in Kansas City this weekend and a win would clinch a playoff spot for us, for some teams the Playoffs are all but Over!

EPL Goal of the Week
You can file this one under "Those Italians" and yes I am Italian, team presidents influenced outcomes of games in the Italian league years back and now they finally question refs?
